Sensei Mike Brown is the head instructor. He started his training in October 1999 in Charlottetown. He received his 1st degree black belt from Sensei Higashi in 2002.
He currently is ranked 5th degree black belt with a Renshi Instructors title. He is a past Kumite coach of Karate PEI.
He opened West River School of Karate in 2007 and is dedicated to teaching karate to everyone, regardless of age, gender or ability. Classes and programs are suitable whether you are six or 86 years old. Whether you are in top physical conditioning or seeking to change your life style, classes can provide the challenge to succeed and reach your goals, whatever they may be.
He travels to many clinics across the country on a regular basis in order to receive training to keep current on the evolution of the art of karate.
Sensei Dawn Brown started her training in Charlottetown in 2002. She received her first degree black belt from Sensei Higashi in 2005.
She is currently a forth degree black belt with a Shihan instructors title.
She previously has held roles of President of Karate PEI, Karate Canada ParaKarate Committee member and Canadian Chito Ryu Association Director at large.
Sensei Greg MacAusland started his training in March 2014 in Charlottetown. He currently is ranked 2nd degree black.
Greg also has completed in many Spartan competitions throughout Canada and the USA.
Sensei Blair Trowbridge started his training in March 2014 in Charlottetown. He currently is ranked 2nd degree black.
Blair is an advid runner and participates in any full marathon that comes his way.
