Frequently asked questions

When do your terms run?  

Classes run in two terms: 

First term runs Sept 14th (tentative upon confirmation from school) to Jan 31st. 

Second term runs Feb 1st until end of May 

Can a family join? 

YES!  We have several parent/kid combinations in our dojo.  If you are going to sit on the bench and watch you may as well join in.  Karate is one of the few sports a family can train together! 

Where are classes held? 

Our classes are held at West Royalty School 

When are class times? 

Classes run on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 6:30 – 8:30(first 45 minutes is a combined class for juniors & adults; second hour is adults only)   

Do they need to buy a manual? 

Kids manuals are free and adults can purchase manuals

What if we can’t make both classes? 

Your registration includes both classes and there are times when people miss classes for other reasons, however if you only attend one of the classes that is fine, it just means you may not advance as quickly as the ones that attend both.  Everyone advances at their own rate. Some are quicker than others to earn strips and belts. 

What ages do you accept? 

We generally start at 5 and up however we have had younger students and our rule is that if they can follow along with the rest of the kids and are not disruptive to the class they usually fit in fine!
